Hi Fruitman176,

If you have already setup McMyAdmin then its as simple as:
#1 Login to your McMyAdmin control panel and goto the About page and then click the Updates tab, now click "Install/Update Bukkit" let it finish and then goto next step.
#2 Goto the "Server Status" page and click "Restart Server" this shouldn't be needed but its always nice todo anyway.
#3 Goto: http://plugins.bukkit.org/ and find the plugins you want to use.
#4 Once you have download the plugin you want to use upload them to the /Minecraft/plugins folder
#5 Goto the "chat" tab in the McMyAadmin control panel and in the chat line at the bottom type "/reload"

Thats it McMyAdmin will now load the plugins and they will be enabled automatically, you may also then need to edit the plugin settings for each plugin but the place you get the plugins from will have step-by-step guides for each one, also if you need to disable a plugin on your server but not remove it you can just goto "/Preferences/Bukkit Plugins" in your McMyAdmin control panel to enable or disable plugins from there :)

Hope this helps.

I too am having issues.

I have the latest Minecraft, bukkit and MCMYA, as dealt with by the web interface.
I am running Win SCP to do the file uploading.
Running W7 x64

I have downladed the .jar file for cobbleroads, copied it to my plugins folder, entered reload at the chat line on the web interface, refreshed in WinSCP and Scanned plugins in the web interface. What am I missing??

Thanks

Hi madcatlady,

Just too confirm you have uploaded the plugin to "ROOT/Minecraft/plugins/"? (with ROOT being the folder that contains your McMyAdmin.exe file.) if you have done this correctly then when you goto "Preferences->Bukkit Plugins" in MMA you should see it already in there enabled (if not click "Scan Plugins").

Plugins will only work if you have Bukkit installed to double check you can just goto "About->Updates" in MMA and it will say "Using Bukkit: Yes" if you have it enabled.

Another thing to keep in mind, I just had a quick look at the Cobbleroad plugin and its not been updated since bukkit recommended build 766, so this could also be whats causing the issue...maybe.

Have you tried any other plugins just out of interest?

With regards to typing reload in the chat area, you did put a forward slash before reload didn't you? e.g. "/reload" if done correctly you will get a response back from MMA with whats been reloaded.

Also a side note, Your running McMyAdmin on your pc (im guessing being on windows 7), so you can just copy and paste the plugins into the correct folder via Windows Explorer this would be much quicker than having to run a separate program :)

Hope this helps :D

Hi DM_Studios,

Interesting you say Root. Kerplunc gave me specific instructions about username minecraft, whereas the forum has said root... I tried the username root with the same other details and, unsurprisingly perhaps, I got access denied...

I have opened a ticket with them, but dear anyinvisible sky magician if they have done the very windows thing of patronising users with "you can't have root access" Especially if I need it to install plugins!

I was using drag and drop to the plugins folder, I'm using winSCP. Wait, what do you mean use windows explorer? Do I not need WinSCP? What is this trickery? :)

Yeah, cobbleroad, but also trying citizens. Can you recommend one that is current in your knowledge mebbe?

Will update when something happens. Will also write something in the Wiki for uubernoobs when I get this down!

Let me know if you have other ideas!

Hi MadCatLady,

You shouldn't need root access to install plugins, When I said ROOT I was referring to the base folder that contains your McMyAdmin.exe and McMyAdmin.conf files :)

I've not personally used anything like cobbleroad, I have however used Citizens which worked fine, well the install did, the actual plugin itself is still quite buggy at the moment especially with the latest bukkit version, I ended up taking it off my servers.

Are you renting a server off someone? or running your own server on your pc/laptop?

If you are renting a server this will require ftp/sftp or ssh to be used when transferring files (so WinSCP will be fine), you can however use windows explorer if you are running your own server on your pc/laptop (localhost).

I've setup around about 22 dedicated minecraft servers for clients now (not all using MCMA....yet :D) and have never had an issue installing plugins so its strange that you are getting this problem.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, When you say you've raised a ticket with them I'm guessing this means your renting a server, in which case, Hope they come back soon with a fix for you :)

Let me know how it goes :D

....
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
/Ragecomic

Ok, so the deal is, I installed them to
/home/minecraft/Minecraft/plugins
When it should have been
/home/minecraft/plugins

Spot the mistake? Subtle eh?

The refresh/reload then worked. I will now test my road.

*Facepalm*

Thanks for your help anyway!

Which command is it your trying to use? if its /reload then try running the command in MCMA chat console, As far as i know you can't run that command within minecraft, it has to be done via the chat console....but don't quote me on that lol :D
